Winnipeg Jets Assign Defenseman Chiarot to Eagles

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets & the AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced today that the Jets have re-assigned rookie defenseman Ben Chiarot (pronounced: sher-ot) from the IceCaps to the Eagles.

Chiarot, a former 4th round draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers (#120 overall in 2009), has played in 14 games with the IceCaps this season, posting a goal, an assist, 19 penalty minutes and a minus-five plus/minus rating.

Prior to this season, the 6-foot-3-inch, 222-pound defenseman recorded 70 points (20-50-70) & 405 PIMs in four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League.

Chiarot will be in the lineup for the Eagles this week as they take on the Las Vegas Wranglers Wednesday, Friday & Saturday at the Budweiser Events Center.
