Vote for the Wranglers' Silver Skaters

January 24, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Last week, the ECHL and The MeiGray Group, leading distributor of game-worn jerseys, opened up voting for the 2012 Silver Skater Fantasy Team. In lieu of an all-star game this season, fans have the opportunity to vote for players to comprise the 2012 Fantasy Team. Every ECHL team has nominated four players for their team ballot, and the top two vote-getters on each team will wear a team jersey with a unique silver team crest and event patch during a designated home game.

The four nominated Wranglers players are Eric Lampe, Adam Miller, Judd Blackwater and Barry Goers. The two players who have received the most votes at the end will be named Silver Skaters and wear their one-of-a-kind jerseys on Tuesday, March 20, when the team takes on the Colorado Eagles.

Fans are limited to one ballot during the voting period, which runs until 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 5. Fans can vote for one player on each ECHL member team's ballot before hitting the "Cast Vote" button at the bottom of the voting page. The results of the Silver Skater Fantasy Team voting will be announced the week of Feb. 20.

League-Leading Rivals Coming to Town

After opening the season with two away games against the Alaska Aces, the Las Vegas Wranglers are preparing to finally take on their biggest rival on home ice. The three-game series starts on Thursday, Feb. 4, and continues Friday and Saturday nights with 7:05 p.m. puck drops across the board. Thursday's game will also honor police, firefighters and military personnel with "Heroes Night," featuring free superhero capes to the first 1,000 kids age 12 and under, a live appearance by Spiderman, and more!

The Wranglers have consistently held second place in the ECHL this season, and currently stand with 54 points and a 25-13-1-3 record. The Aces, looking to defend their Kelly Cup championship from last season, have steadily held onto first place with 65 points and a 30-6-2-3 record. A three-game sweep of the Aces would give the Wranglers six more points in the standings and bring them one step closer to knocking Alaska out of the top spot.

Before returning home, the Wranglers will play a three-game road series starting tomorrow night against the Colorado Eagles. In their last match-up on Monday, Jan. 16, the Wranglers won 5-1 at home.
