The Rochester Red Wings fell, 5-3, to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the final game of their six-game series, dropping four games in the Electric City. 2B Luis García and RF Paul Witt continued their hot starts with Rochester, each nabbing a double and an RBI while RHP Joel Peguero worked his fourth scoreless outing with the Wings this season.

Rochester struck first in the top of the first inning, scoring first for the third time this series. A double from Luis García, his sixth hit in four games, brought up 1B Jake Noll. The righty brought in García with an RBI single to give the Wings a 1-0 lead. In the top of the third, García extended Rochester's lead to 2-0 with a sacrifice fly out that brought in Paul Witt, who reached base on a leadoff double.

Scranton/WB responded in the bottom half of the inning by cutting the deficit to 2-1 on a sacrifice fly out from 1B Andres Chaparro that brought in 2B Wilmer Difo. Chaparro came back in the bottom of the fifth inning to kick off a three-run frame for the RairRiders with an RBI single to tie the game. RF Franchy Cordero followed up in the next at bat with a two-run home run, his second long ball against the Wings this season, to give Scranton/WB a 4-2 lead.

The Wings added a run back in the seventh, cutting the deficit to 4-3 on another sacrifice fly, Rochester's second, this time off the bat of Witt that scored 3B Jack Dunn. Scranton/WB quickly responded in the bottom of the inning when SS Oswaldo Peraza launched his 13th home run of the season, a solo shot over the left field wall, making the score 5-3. LHP Anthony Misiewicz set down the Wings in order to finish off the ninth inning and hand Rochester their ninth series loss of the season.

The Wings close out the two-week, two-city road trip with a 6-6 record, going 4-2 against Worcester and finishing 2-4 in Scranton, PA. They currently sit with a 17-16 record in the second half, just 3.5 games back of first place Norfolk (20-12).
