Wed., Mar. 11 - PENGUINS 5 vs. Hershey 3
A three-goal third-period allowed W-B/Scranton to pull away from Hershey for a 5-3 victory. Captain Tom Kostopoulos potted the game-winner with 3:23 left in regulation. Barry Goers netted his first goal of the season in the win.
Sat., Mar. 14 - PENGUINS 3 vs. Hershey 1
Jayson Megna notched a goal and an assist, while Conor Sheary tallied his team-leading 20th goal of the season to help the Penguins sweep the two-game set versus the Bears. Matt Murray made 26 saves for his ninth straight win.
Sun., Mar. 15 - PENGUINS 2 vs. Hartford 5
The Wolf Pack built a four-goal lead before taking a 5-2 decision against the Penguins. Goals from Josh Archibald and Jayson Megna cut Hartford's lead down to two. Chris Bourque found the back of the net twice for the Wolf Pack.
The Week Ahead
Fri., Mar. 20 - Penguins at SYRACUSE
The Crunch (36-17-8-0) are in first place in the Northeast Division and third overall in the Eastern Conference. This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Penguins and Crunch with Syracuse owning a 2-0-1-0 record.
Sat., Mar. 21 - PENGUINS vs. Binghamton
Binghamton sits in fourth place in the East Division with a record of 26-28-7-1. Chris Wideman leads all AHL blueliners in assists (33) and points (49) and is tied for first in goals (16).
Sun., Mar. 22 - Penguins at LEHIGH VALLEY
Having won five of their last seven games, the Phantoms (29-24-6-1) have pulled within eight points of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. W-B/Scranton will face Lehigh Valley three more times over the next six matches.
Ice Chips
- Scoring his team-leading 20th marker of the year on Saturday versus Hershey, Conor Sheary is now tied for second among AHL rookies in goals and ranks fifth in points (40).
- Sheary has also collected 11 points (5G-6A) during his current eight-game home point streak that stretches back to Feb. 3.
- The Penguins have posted points in 18 of their last 21 games (16-3-1-1).
- Murray leads the AHL in goals against average (1.60), save percentage (.939) and shutouts (9) and has won his last nine starts.
- W-B/Scranton has a record of 30-4-1-0 when scoring first for a .871 winning percentage - the best mark in the AHL.
- The Penguins' magic number currently stands at 22.
