MCH 4 vs STJ 1

Sean Backman netted a pair of goals, Colin Miller chipped in with a goal and an assist and Jordan Weal added two assists as the Manchester Monarchs topped the IceCaps at Mile One Centre. Peter Budaj played well in his return to the IceCaps' net and finished the night with 27 saves. Ryan Olsen scored the only goal for St. John's.

STJ 5 vs MCH 4 (OT)

Jordan Hill made the most of his return to the lineup as he notched the overtime winner, helping the IceCaps to the decision over the Monarchs at Mile One Centre. Jason Jaffray led the way on offense for St. John's with two goals and John Albert and Will O'Neill each chipped in with a pair of assists.

Derek Forbort doubled his goal total for the entire season with a pair of tallies in the first frame, while Jordan Weal, Brian O'Neill and Nic Dowd each chipped in with a pair of assists as the Monarchs topped the IceCaps at Mile One Centre.

IceCaps 'Hab' new NHL Affiliate: The Montreal Canadiens announced late last week they are moving their AHL farm team from Hamilton, Ont. to St. John's to start the 2015-16 season. At the same time, the Winnipeg Jets announced they are relocating their AHL club from St. John's to Winnipeg. "We could not be more thrilled to partner with the Montreal Canadiens and to welcome this legendary hockey organization to St. John's," said IceCaps CEO Danny Williams. "We are delighted in making St. John's our new home and look forward to playing in front of fans who have long been Canadiens supporters and who will now have an opportunity to watch our finest prospects as they hone their skills with our AHL affiliate team," said Canadiens owner, president and CEO Geoff Molson.
