Norfolk Admirals News Release
NORFOLK, Va. - A committee consisting of former Admirals and longtime season-ticket holders have voted former Hampton Roads winger Randy Pearce into the Admirals Hall of Fame.
Pearce led the Admirals to their second-straight Riley Cup Championship in the 1991-92 season. As a rookie, the Kitchener, Ontario native burst onto the scene by leading the team in goals (32), assists (46), and points (78) during the regular season before tying for third in postseason scoring with five markers and nine helpers in 11 playoff games. He spent most of the following year in the AHL with the Baltimore Skipjacks, but still had 24 points in 16 games for Hampton Roads.
Washington 's fourth-round selection in the 1990 NHL Draft made his return to the Admirals after three seasons in the AHL. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound attacker put up 27 goals and 72 points while playing in all 70 regular season games for the blue and gold. In nine playoff games, Pearce potted a goal and helped on nine more for 10 points.
He finished his three-year career as an Admiral seventh all-time in ECHL Admirals history in goals scored (69), ninth in assists (105), and ninth in points (174). He averaged 1.23 points-per-game, which is fourth among the top 10 scorers in Hampton Roads Admirals history. Pearce is 13th all-time in games played (141).
