Augusta Lynx News Release
Beaumont, TX - The Texas Wildcatters scored five power play goals and added an empty netter in a 7-4 win over the Augusta Lynx on Saturday night at the Ford Arena.
Staked to a 3-1 advantage after the opening frame, Ryan Lang's second goal of the night brought the Lynx within one at 6:34 of the second period. After Marco Rosa and Kevin Baker chipped in markers for Texas, Louis Goulet replied for a 5-3 score through 40 minutes of play.
In the third, Olivier Proulx paved the way for Brendan Cote's empty net goal at 19:58 to give the Wildcatters the winning margin. Sean Blanchard managed a third period power play goal for Augusta, who ended the night 3-for-9 with the man advantage.
Augusta will return to the ice on Tuesday at the James Brown Arena as they host the Columbia Inferno at 7:35 pm. Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food donations for the Golden Harvest Food Bank that night to help the less fortunate around the CSRA. Tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
