Wildcatters Continue Home Dominance in 7-4 WIN over Augusta

Beaumont, TX - The Texas Wildcatters (7-2-2-0) scored a season high 7 goals on 60 shots to defeat the Augusta Lynx by a score of 7 to 4 in front a crowd of 2,300 at Ford Arena. Seven different ‘Catters found the net as Texas scored five goals on the power play. Paul Albers opened the scoring in the first period with a shot from the left point for his third goal of the season. Augusta would quickly tie the score, but Mark Rooneem gave the ‘Catters the lead back with his fourth of the year. J.F. David would follow with his second of the season as he continues to lead ECHL defensemen in scoring with 16 points. Marco Rosa would add his eighth of the year. Augusta pulled starting goaltender Dave McKee, replacing him with Brett Jaeger, but Kevin Baker continued the onslaught with his league leading 12th goal. It also was his league leading ninth goal on the power play.

Olivier Proulx and Brandin Cote rounded out the scoring in the third period en route to the ‘Catters 7 to 4 win. Texas finished the game going 5 for 11 on the power play. Matt Yeats made 23 saves including a save on a penalty shot off the stick of Augusta's Joe Cardarelli in the third period. The Wildcatters are now 4-0-1-0 at home and head back out on the road on a 7 game, 13 day road trip beginning with a game at South Carolina on Wednesday night.
