Augusta, GA - A one-out, bases loaded wild pitch in the 13th inning allowed Jeff Arnold to score the winning run from third as the Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Rome Braves 4-3 in 13 innings on Monday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

The GreenJackets didn't lead until the last play of the game, a run set up by Jeff Arnold's leadoff double in the 13th. After a sacrifice bunt pushed Arnold to third, back-to-back intentional walks loaded the bases for Bobby Haney. The first pitch to Haney from Chasen Shreve (0-2) kicked away from catcher Christian Bethancourt, allowing Arnold to score the winning run from third. The win is Augusta's third walkoff win of the season and their sixth straight to open a series.

The extra-inning affair handed no decisions to a pair of starters that threw really well for their respective ballclubs. Augusta's Seth Rosin fired seven innings and allowed two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out two. Rosin got 15 of the 21 outs he recorded through groundballs in a solid bounceback effort after his worst start of the year - just an inning-plus last Tuesday in Lexington.

Rome's Carlos Perez was perhaps a little better though, firing seven innings as well and only allowing a run on two hits. Perez walked two and struck out seven - two shy of a season high.

The Braves took the lead on an RBI groundout from Elmer Reyes in the fifth after Rome started the inning with back-to-back singles off Rosin. It was the only time Rosin allowed multiple baserunners in his seven-inning stint. Augusta tied things in the bottom of the inning when Adam Duvall doubled to open the frame, then moved to third and eventually scored on two of the three wild pitches thrown by Perez in the game.

Rome's Chris Garcia single-handedly put the Braves up by two headed into the bottom of the ninth. With two outs and two strikes on him in the sixth, Garcia connected for a home run to center field off Rosin to hand the Braves a one-run lead. The homer was his first hit as a Rome Brave. In the eighth, his RBI single off Jacob Dunnington gave the Braves a 3-1 edge.

Augusta tied things in the ninth, as Bobby Haney led off with a single to left. With two outs, Duvall drove a 2-0 fastball over the wall in left-center to tie the game at three and send it to extras on his fifth home run of the season.

Stephen Harrold (2-1) fired three scoreless innings of three-hit baseball, striking out a pair, to get the win for the GreenJackets.

The GreenJackets will try to win their second straight and their fourth in six games on Tuesday as they play the second of four against the Braves. Austin Fleet (3-2, 4.74) will face Rome's David Filak (1-1, 4.87) in a matchup of righties. First pitch will come at 7:05 with the pregame action beginning at 6:50, airing online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .
