Rockford IceHogs News Release
ROCKFORD, Ill. - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs today announced they have recalled forward Alex Wideman from the ECHL's Indy Fuel.
Wideman, 26, has spent the majority of the 2017-18 season with the Fuel, tallying 38 points (15g, 23a) in 46 games. The forward ranks fourth among Fuel skaters in points and assists, and his 15 goals are the sixth-most on Indy's active roster. He was originally reassigned from Rockford to the Fuel on Feb. 16 and has since tallied points in 13 of 15 games. Wideman has combined for 18 points (6g, 12a) in 15 contests over that span.
The native of St. Louis now rejoins the IceHogs where he has collected two penalty minutes and nine shots in 10 games this year. Wideman made his season debut with the Hogs on Jan. 10 at Ontario and last skated with the team on Feb. 10 at Iowa.
Overall, the forward has skated in 21 career AHL games, and combined for 132 points (52g, 80a) in 174 career ECHL contests since making his professional debut in 2014-15.
Next Home Game: Friday, March 23 | Rockford vs. Milwaukee
