Stockton Heat News Release
Stockton, Calif. - Rod Pelley suited up in his 800th professional game, but Tucson scored a goal in each period and kept all 23 Stockton shots at bay in the 3-0 loss to the Roadrunners at Stockton Arena on Friday. With a revamped roster from the trade deadline, the new-look Roadrunners started with a lot of possession time in the first period and would capitalize first with a power-play goal from Mike Sislo that put the Heat down by one. Stockton would get a few more chances as the game wore on but Sislo would put his second of the night in to put the top team in the Pacific Division up 2-0 heading into the third. The road team added to their lead thanks to Mario Kempe early in the third while Tucson goalie Hunter Miska kept the Heat at bay for his first career shutout, just the second time the Heat have been shutout this season. Stockton's four-game homestand concludes tomorrow during Stockton Heat Hockey Goes Green presented by Covanta and Stockton Ports Baseball Night presented by ABC10 beginning at 6:00 p.m. against the Tucson Roadrunners. Fans can learn from eco-friendly companies and celebrate the return of Stockton Ports baseball where the first 500 kids and 1,000 adults in the building will receive a Heat baseball jersey and following the game, the first 1,500 fans to leave the Arena will receive a clear Heat drawstring bag. It's also Hockey Night in Stockton presented by Budweiser, where fans 21-years and over can purchase a Bud & Burger Combo for $15! Due to bad weather, the Heat Zone Pregame Party has been cancelled. Stockton Arena doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Visit stocktonheat.com or call 209.373.1500 to learn more.
