For a second straight game, the Thunder benefitted from a big period, beginning with Daniel Tetrault's score at 7:32 in the first. Galbraith eventually scored at 14:56, wrapping around the right post and backhanding the puck through Emond's five-hole. Matt Robinson snapped home Wichita's fourth goal of the period at 15:24, shooting from inside the left circle. Brad Phillips subbed for Emond after Robinson's goal.
Bloomington got on the board at 15:51 in the second when Jon Booras connected on a slapshot from the top of the left circle during a Prairie Thunder power play. Late in the period, Aaron Davis directed a faceoff win to A.J. Gale who scored at 19:00 to re-extend Wichita's lead.
Wichita played clean defense over the final two minutes, with Marc-Antoine Gelinas going 8 for 8. Gelinas earned the win, saving 33 of 34. Jason Goulet and Robin Richards dropped the gloves in succession on two occassions. The second set of bouts preceded Galbraith's with just over three minutes left in regulation.
