Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

North Richland Hills, TEXAS - The tension that started on Friday's game against Odessa carried over into the second game of the two game series between the teams at the NYTEX Sports Centre as the Brahmas proved to be too much for the Jackalopes to handle with a 4-3 overtime win.

The Brahmas started early when only 5:34 into the game Ross Rouleau had an unassisted goal to beat Irving native David McKee at the net and got the Brahmas on the board with a 1-0 lead. The Jackalopes answered back when Alex Dunn got one past Wayne Savage to even the score. Less than a minute later Darryl Bootland scored off a rebound to give Odessa the 2-1 advantage with.

The second period seemed a repeat of the previous game as both teams went scoreless. The Brahmas were unable to take advantage of a five-on-three power play at the 6:15 marker, but were able to hold off the Jackalopes with two penalty kills.

The third period become more physical, as a scuffle between several Brahmas and Jackalopes players gave the Brahmas a one man advantage and Greg Hogeboom capitalized on the power play with a goal to cut the Odessa lead to 3-2. Jason Deitsch was able to fire one past McKee at the 9:13 mark to tie the game 3-3 and take it to overtime.

Only 59 seconds into overtime Chad Woollard hurdled one past McKee for the game winning goal and his eighteenth of the season to give the Brahmas a 4-3 win. Texas now leads the season series against Odessa 4-2.

The Brahmas next home game is January 15 when they take on the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:30 PM at the NYTEX Sports Centre. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
