
Bucks Dethrone \'Kings in 4-2 Win

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Mississippi RiverKings 4-2 Saturday night at Laredo Energy Arena. The Bucks move to 2-1 in January and improve to 12-15-5 (29 points) on the season.
Neil Trimm picked up three points (1-2=3) while Pier Pelletier stopped 20 of 22 shots as the Bucks picked up their first win over the RiverKings since February 1, 2008. Laredo is now 1-3-1 in their last five games against Mississippi.
The Bucks jumped out in front of the RiverKings with two goals in less than a minute late in the opening period. Jeff Bes put Laredo up 1-0 with 4:35 left in the first when he scored on a backhander from the slot to pick up his 13th of the season. The Bucks have scored first in five of their last six games.
Laredo would increase their lead to 2-0 just 50 seconds later when Ryan Lehr picked up a loose puck in the slot and rifled a slap shot in to score his fifth of the campaign.
The Bucks outshot the RiverKings 11-5 in the first period.
Laredo would go up 3-0 with 9:15 left in the second when Serge Dube scored from the point on the power-play to pick up his third goal of the season and his first since early November.
The Bucks outshot the RiverKings 10-9 in the second period.
Brennan Sarazin picked up his second goal in as many nights when he scored just 4:08 into the third period to cut the Bucks lead to 3-1.
The RiverKings pulled to within one at 3-2 with just 1:07 left in the game when Louis Dumont scored from the point to notch his 11th of the campaign.
Trimm scored an empty net goal with just 40 seconds left to make it 4-2 Bucks. Laredo improves to 9-1-1 when scoring four or more goals this season.
Each team put up eight shots in the third period with the Bucks outshooting the RiverKings 29-22 in the game.
The Bucks will return to action after the All-Star break next Friday (Jan. 14th) when they host Rio Grande Valley.
