
Whitecaps Grand Re-Opening Weekend

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - After fighting through the cold and winter weather last week, the West Michigan Whitecaps will host a Grand Re-Opening Weekend from Thursday, April 19th to Sunday, April 23rd as the 'Caps continue an eight-game homestand into the weekend against Clinton and Wisconsin.
Things will kick off on Thursday with the first 1,000 fans receiving replica 2006 Midwest League Championship rings, presented by Terryberry, before the Whitecaps host the Clinton LumberKings at 6:35 p.m. One lucky fan will find a specially engraved ring that they can redeem for an authentic championship ring.
Thursday is also College Night, where students with a college I.D. can purchase $1 hot dogs, $1 pretzels and $1 soft drinks all night long. Students will also be allowed to purchase $1 beers only on the Miller Lite House Deck until the end of the 7th inning. Fans can also stay after the game for a post-game party on the MLHD until midnight with the band "Broken Sunday."
Friday's game against Clinton is Play Hooky day with a scheduled start of 3 p.m. Fans can leave work early, come out to the ballpark and still do work from their laptop with the wireless internet that is installed throughout Fifth Third Ballpark. Fans can head to the Pepsi Stadium Club before the game from 2-3 p.m. for Happy Hour with drink specials. There will also be a post-game party in the Miller Lite House Deck featuring the band "Mid Life Crisis."
Friday is also the long-awaited Cameron Maybin bobblehead giveaway, presented by Sandy Pines RV Resort. The first 1,000 fans through the gate at Fifth Third Ballpark on Friday will receive the Maybin bobblehead.
The Grand Re-Opening weekend continues for Saturday's 4 p.m. start against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, presented by WGVU. Saturday is Carnival Day with an inflatable obstacle course, giant slide, Bounceland, balloon typhoon, face painters, spin art and a dragon hide and slide set up in the north outfield back gate from 3-6 p.m. and free of charge. Sunday's game against Wisconsin will be a 2 p.m. start and is Spectrum Health Family Day, where the first 1,000 kids (12 and under) will receive a free voucher for a hot dog, soda and chips.
