
Westchester's Brandon Williams Signs with Portland

TARRYTOWN, NY - Brandon Williams of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, signed a Two-Way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers as announced by the team on Tuesday. This marks the 19th NBA Call-Up in Westchester team history, and the seventh opportunity this season, setting a new franchise record for the team.
Williams (tryout), 6'2 190, has appeared in 23 games overall (17 starts) for the Knicks this season. During the Showcase Cup (10 games), Brandon averaged 17.7 points on 36.4 FG% to go along with 5.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 31.0 minutes. Most recently in the regular season (13 games), Williams held averages of 22.8 points on 46.1 FG%, 6.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in 33.1 minutes. He scored a career-high 35 points against the Maine Celtics (1/22), knocking down a career-high six three-pointers in the contest, and has dished 10 assists on four separate occasions this season. Williams has led the team in scoring 11 times and in assists 13 times this season.
Back in December, Williams signed a 10-Day Contract via the NBA's Hardship Exception by the Trail Blazers and played 12 minutes over two games.
The Arizona product earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention honors during the 2018-19 season before redshirting his sophomore campaign and going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Knicks are at the Wisconsin Herd on Thursday, February 24 at 8 PM ET.
