FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired guard Anthony Mathis in a trade with the Austin Spurs. In exchange, Texas sends their own 2022 3rd round pick and a 2022 3rd round pick from Birmingham.
Mathis (6-4, 175, Oregon) played three seasons at New Mexico earning Mountain West honors as a sophomore and junior before transferring to Oregon. In 132 career college games, the Oregon native averaged 9.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
Selected by the Austin Spurs in the 2nd round of the 2021 G League Draft, Mathis played all 15 games of the shortened season and averaging 13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. This season with the Spurs, he has played 11.3 minutes per game across 26 contests averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds.
