Westchester Knicks Acquire Andre Barrett

WHITE PLAINS, October 31, 2014 - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, announced today that the team has acquired guard Andre Barrett from the Sioux Falls SkyForce in exchange for a 2014 third round draft pick in the NBA D-League Draft and the Returning Player Rights to Brady Morningstar.

Barrett, 5-10, 172-pounds, signed as a free agent with the New York Knicks on Oct. 4, 2004. The Bronx, N.Y. native played for six NBA teams between 2004-2008 averaging 2 assists in 12.2 average minutes of play.

Morningstar, 6-4, 185-pounds, was selected by the Westchester Knicks in the 2014 NBA Development League Expansion Draft. After 75 career games in the NBA Development League, the Lawrence, Kansas native averaged 7.7 points over 23.2 minutes.

The 2014 NBA Development League Draft will take place via Cisco WebEx on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Westchester Knicks, new to the NBA D-League for the 2014-15 season, will select tenth between the playoff and non-playoff teams. Follow @wcknicks for live updates.
