LAST TIME OUT
On January 28, the Westchester Knicks (19-15), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell to the Raptors 905 (19-12), 106-91, Monday evening at the Westchester County Center.
Westchester led after the first (28-26) and second (54-49) quarters. However, the Raptors used a 47.8-percent three-point shooting performance in the second half to turn the tide for good outscoring the Knicks by 20 through the game's final two quarters.
Sekou Wiggs scored a career-high 22 points on 56.3-percent shooting off the bench. He also collected five rebounds and two assists. Paul Watson, Zak Irvin, Jameel Warney and Billy Garrett all finished with 10 points apiece. Irvin also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
For 905, Chris Boucher led all on the evening with 25 points and three rejections. Kyle Collinsworth and Josh Adams picked up 11 and 10 respective rebounds while Jordan Loyd dished a game-high 15 dimes.
The Raptors led by as many as 21 while exchanging leads with the Knicks nine times and seeing six even scores.
905 has evened the season series with Westchester, 2-2.
LAST MEETING
On December 15, 2018, the Westchester Knicks (14-5), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, relinquished its convincing lead in waning time but took overtime, 119-117, over the Grand Rapids Drive (6-8) Saturday evening at DeltaPlex Arena.
John Jenkins scored 40 points, his second 40-point game of the season, on 54.2-percent shooting and drained six triples. Kadeem Allen, whose 4-0 run closed out the victory, scored 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished four assists. Zak Irvin tallied eight points, tied a game-high 11 boards and dished a team-high and career-high five dimes.
Kenneth Smith (24) and Todd Withers (21) led the Drive in scoring. Smith also added 12 assists, the most by a Knicks opponent this season, while Johnny Hamilton collected 11 boards.
The Knicks traded a 13-point third-quarter lead for a competitive late fourth quarter. Billy Garrett free-throws helped carry the Knicks into overtime as Westchester saw the Drive outscore them 28-21 in the window.
Keenan Evans drained a three to put the Drive ahead in the extra session and a Hamilton free-throw kept the Drive up one. However, Allen's pair of free-throws and runner on back-to-back Knicks' possessions pushed the Knicks ahead for good.
CONSIDERING LAST FIVE GAMES
Jameel Warney leads Westchester in scoring (17.2 ppg) through the Knicks' last five and having played all games in the span. Also playing all five games, Billy Garrett is averaging 13.8 points per game. Garrett also leads with 3.2 assists per game.
THIRD QUARTER WOE
Westchester scored 12 third quarter points against Raptors (1/28) which marked the lowest scoring third quarter by the team all season. It tied its lowest scoring quarter performance first tabbed against Oklahoma City (12/8). Both games resulted in losses.
SHOW OUT BENCH
The Westchester bench generated 53 of the team's 119 total points against Grand Rapids Drive (12/15). A game before that, against Fort Wayne (12/13), the Knicks bench totaled a season-high 62 points while the team scored 131 as a whole. Before Delaware (1/19), the Knicks bench was accounting for 41.3-percent of the team's offense 442 of 1,069 total points) in eight games. Versus Delaware (1/19), the Knicks bench added a season-low nine points and followed that up with 16 points against Windy City (1/21). Since Delaware (1/19), the bench has accounted for 30.7-percent of the team's offense (157 of 517 total points). Conversely, the Knicks' starters in the last five games are accounting for 69.7-percent of the team's offense.
OPPONENTS AT THE LINE
In Westchester's last five games, its opponents have all shot worse than 72-percent from the free-throw line. In three of those games, its opponents failed to clear 70-percent.

Paul Watson scored five field goals against Sioux Falls (1/26) which marked just the fourth time Watson was able to convert at least that many baskets. His 13 points nabbed the ninth time this season he scored in double-figures. He followed that up scoring 10 points against Raptors (1/28) on three field-goal makes.
THE THREE BALL
The Knicks are only generating 333 points from three-point territory in losses which accounts for 22.3-percent of the team's offense. In those same losses, its opponents are generating 564 points from the perimeter which accounts for 32.7-percent of those offenses.
In wins, the Knicks are generating 510 points from distance which accounts for 24.3-percent of the team's offense. In those same wins, its opponents are generating 630 points from the perimeter which accounts for 34.1-percent of those offenses.
SCORING WIGGS
Sekou Wiggs scored a career-high 22 points against Raptors (1/28) which marked just the eighth time he scored in double-figures. All of those games have come in the calendar year.
GOOD LOOKS AT THE BASKET
Before Sioux Falls (1/26), Zak Irvin was shooting 62.7-percent from the field from 1/16-1/25 (32-of-51). He shot 25-percent against the Skyforce and 41.7-percent against the Raptors (1/28).
SEKOU FOR THREE
Sekou Wiggs drained four triples against Sioux Falls (1/26) which tabbed a new career-high for the guard and did so on 44.4-percent shooting. He's netted multiple threes in one game four times this season.
ZAK ON THE BOARDS
Zak Irvin hauled 15 rebounds against Sioux Falls (1/26) which tabbed a career-high. This included five on the offensive glass.
THAT'S THE BILLY WE KNOW
Billy Garrett scored 14 points against Texas (1/16) which marked the first time he was able to score in double-figures since tallying 14 against Fort Wayne (1/2). Garrett has put together six streaks of 10-plus points which ranged from two consecutive games to five. He is currently riding a four-game streak of scoring double-figures.
PAUL ON DEFENSE
Paul Watson's nine rebounds against Memphis (1/25) tied his season-high and his four steals tabbed a new career-best.
WARNEY BUCKETS
Jameel Warney came to Westchester hot almost immediately. Following just a six-point performance against Rio Grande Valley (1/11), Warney went on to average 26.3 points over the next last four games, with 11.5 field goal makes per game on 58.3-percent shooting. He has scored in double-figures in all but one game as a Knick.
WE HAVE TO CONVERT
Before Delaware (1/19), Westchester got to the line 144 times in five games. However, the team only converted 95 of them (66%) which ranked 25th in the G League (as of 1/15). Against Delaware, the team went 16-for-18 from the free-throw line (88.9%). The last time the team shot better came against Grand Rapids (12/15) when the team went 33-for-34 (97.1%) which also resulted in a win.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Before Texas (1/16), Westchester was an undefeated 7-0 when it shot 50-percent or better from the field. Against Texas (1/16), the Knicks shot 50.6-percent marking the first loss shooting that well.
Before Texas (1/16), the only other time the team shot 50-percent or better was against the Raptors (1/4) and before that came against Fort Wayne (12/13). Of Westchester's last 18 games, the team has shot 50-percent or better five times.
MORE POSSESSIONS
The Knicks' 27 second-chance points score against Windy City (1/21) marked a season-high for the club and accounted for 28.7-percent of the team's offense. Zak Irvin hauled a game-high four offensive rebounds against the Bulls. The team has scored 20 or more second-chance points four other times this season including its most recent outing-Sioux Falls (1/26) where they scored 24. Irvin had five offensive boards and Jameel Warney had four.

The Knicks averaged 5.0 blocks per game from 1/19-1/23 and have gone 2-1 in the window. This follows a two-game span from 1/14-1/16 when the team raised for just two blocks total, both resulting in losses. The team is averaging 3.7 blocks in its last three going 1-2.

The Knicks have edged their opponents in the paint in nine of their last eleven games with the one game being equal. ZIMM ZIMMA
From 1/21-1/23, Stephen Zimmerman was shooting 55.6-percent averaged 10.5 points in the span. He is also averaged eight rebounds and 2.5 on the offensive glass. Zimmerman's 13 points scored against the Raptors (1/23) marked the first time he scored in double-figures since reaching 11 against Rio Grande Valley (1/11). That performance capped a three-game streak. He tallied 14 points against Memphis (1/25).
WHO'S GONNA STEP UP
To start the season, John Jenkins led the team for three games straight. In November, Jenkins, Isaiah Hicks, Luke Kornet and Billy Garrett each took command of the scoring. December saw five different top scorers. In January, six different Knicks (Jenkins, Zak Irvin, Sekou Wiggs, Kadeem Allen, Jameel Warney, Billy Garrett) led the team in scoring.
STOPPED THE SKID
Westchester's four-game skid which includes Capital City, Rio Grande Valley, Salt Lake City, Texas marked its longest slide this season.
ZAK ZAK
Zak Irvin has recorded three double-doubles in 15 games. He has grabbed double-digits rebounds eight times this season and has scored in double figures on eleven occasions.

BILLY THE STARTER
Garrett has started the last eight games for Westchester. In the span, Garrett is averaging 12.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

The Knicks are scoring 110.7 points per win and 99.7 points per loss. Its opponents are scoring 98.6 points per Knicks win and 110.3 points per Knicks loss.

Isaiah Hicks is averaging 18.3 points in 14 wins and 13.8 points in nine setbacks.
CHARITY STRIPE
The Knicks are shooting 76.1-percent from the free-throw line in wins and 71.5-percent in losses.

The Knicks are shooting 37.4-percent from three in wins and 31.1-percent from three in losses.
BAULK FOR THREE
Devon Baulkman's four threes against Salt Lake City (1/14) tied his career-high. All of his points came from the perimeter. He netted three triples against the Raptors (1/23).
JOHN JENKINS 10-DAY
On January 31, 2019, the Washington Wizards announced that the team signed John Jenkins of the Westchester Knicks (19-14), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, to a 10-day contract.
With Westchester this season, Jenkins, 6'4, 215, started each of the 19 games he appeared in averaging a team-high 24.8 points per game on 47-percent shooting. The guard also drained 62 triples this season on 42.5-percent and was a 92.8-percent free-throw shooter. His line also included averages of 3.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals and a pair of 40-point performances.
In the NBA, Jenkins has averaged 5.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in 145 career games (eight starts) with Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix. He was originally selected with the 23rd overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2012 NBA Draft.
The Hendersonville, TN, native played three years at Vanderbilt, where he averaged 16.9 points per game. Jenkins led the SEC in scoring during his sophomore (19.5 ppg) and junior (19.9 ppg) seasons. He was named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press following his junior year.
He is the ninth Westchester Knick to earn a call-up and eighth under head coach Mike Miller. He is the second player to earn one this season. At least one player has earned a call-up each season since Westchester's G League inception in 2014.
WELCOME BACK TYRIUS WALKER
The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, acquired Tyrius Walker on January 26.
Walker, 6'1, 185, signed with the New York Knicks after participating in its 2018 Summer League and was waived prior to the start of the NBA G League season.
The Atlanta, GA native appeared in one game for the Maine Red Claws, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Boston Celtics.
He spent four years at Morehouse College, a Division II program. He was a four-year starter and in 2018, earned SIAC Player of the Year and All-America honors while leading the Maroon Tigers to a 25-3 record while earning the No. 1 spot in regional rankings and top ten national rankings for consecutive weeks.
WELCOME JAMEEL WARNEY
On January 8, the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, traded Xavier Rathan-Mayes to the Texas Legends in exchange for Jameel Warney.
Jameel Warney, 6'7 259, came to Westchester after appearing in 22 games this season for the Texas Legends, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. He was averaging 13.7 on 43-percent shooting (seventh-best on the team) and 6.8 rebounds (third-best on the team).
With the Dub Knicks, the Rathan-Mayes averaged 16.7 points in 43 games on 43-percent shooting (third-best on the team). He shot 33.8-percent from distance, collected 6.4 rebounds per game (third-best on the team) and dished 7.2 assists per game (309 total assists slotted first on the team).
THAT WAS CLOSE
Before Capital City (1/6), Westchester was 5-0 in games settled by three points or less. The Knicks' 11-point loss to Austin (12/21) marked just the second time the team lost by 11 or more points. The one-point loss to Capital City (1/6) marked the first setback, 90-89, settled by a margin smaller than three.
IT'S MORE THAN DEFENSE
Austin (12/21) scored 99 points which marked the first time a Knicks opponent scored fewer than 100 points and still pulled out the victory. Previously, Westchester was 8-0 when an opponent failed to clear the 100-point mark. Capital City (1/6) scored just 90 in four periods and one-point overtime to tab the victory over the Knicks.
SHOWCASE LEADERS
John Jenkins led the team in Vegas with 19.5 ppg on 45.2-percent shooting. Jenkins shot 40-percent from three as one of only five Knicks to connect from long range. His 5.5 apg ranked second on the team.
Stephen Zimmerman was the team's leading rebounder with 9.5 rpg during the Showcase, including six total on the offensive glass. Zimmerman earned one start and tied for third with 13.5 ppg.
Kadeem Allen led the Knicks in assists with 8.0 apg.
TWO-WAY DEEM
On January 14, the New York Knicks announced that the team signed guard Kadeem Allen to a Two-Way contract.
Allen, 6'3 200, joined the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, after appearing in two preseason games and being waived by New York on October 13, 2018.
Allen was a late second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Arizona (2015-17) and Hutchinson Community College (2012-14), selected 53rd overall by the Boston Celtics. With the Red Claws, Allen averaged 17.7 points per game, a team-leading 2.2 steals per game and 5.0 assists per game. He was later named to the 2018 NBA G League All-Defensive Team.
With Allen's Two-Way contract, he will be the eighth Westchester Knick to earn a call-up and seventh under head coach Mike Miller. At least one player has earned a call-up each season since Westchester's G League inception in 2014.
THE COACH'S CHALLENGE
The coach's challenge was revised so that teams receive only one challenge per game, to be used at any point during regulation or overtime periods. Only fouls called, goaltending/basket interference and out-of-bounds calls may be challenged.
TWO-WAY PLAYERS
Beginning in the 2017 offseason, NBA rosters expanded from 15 to 17 players with the addition of two spots for players under "Two-Way Contracts."
NBA teams may have up to two players under NBA Two-Way Contracts who will spend the bulk of the season in the NBA G League and not more than 45 days with their NBA team. Two-Way players are paid a corresponding daily amount based on the number of days they play in each league. Only players with four or fewer years of NBA service are able to sign Two-Way Contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons.
Isaiah Hicks and Kadeem Allen are under Two-Way Contract via the New York Knicks.
SUCCESS STORY
On December 13, the New York Knicks announced that the team signed guard Allonzo Trier to an NBA contract. With this signing, Trier becomes the first two-way player to sign a guaranteed NBA contract within the first two months of the season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The NBA G League's flexible assignment system - which was instituted prior to the 2014-15 season - will continue to enable the independent NBA teams to assign players to the NBA G League for development or rehabilitation from injury.
