AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs (14-19), presented by SWBC, fell to the Long Island Nets (21-10), 131-116, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Friday evening.
Travis Trice paced Spurs scoring with 25 points (10-18 FG, 4-8 3FG). Drew Eubanks recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-2 FT) and 14 rebounds. The two-way forward and league leader in field goal percentage has scored 10 or more points in 17 of his 20 games played with Austin.
A competitive first half featured 11 lead changes and 10 ties, with neither team able to gain more than a single-digit advantage. Trice contributed 17 points with three made three-pointers.
The Silver and Black continued to compete in the third, but Long Island was able to pull away in the closing minutes of the quarter. The Nets would go on to control the final period of the contest, pushing their advantage to as many as 19 points for a final score of 131-116.
For Long Island, Jordan McLaughlin led scoring with 34 points (14-21 FG, 5-9 3FG) in 28 minutes off the bench. Theo Pinson contributed 33 points (12-25 FG, 7-14 3FG) and Alan Williams notched a double-double of 17 points (7-15 FG) and 19 rebounds.
