Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - Gary Trent Jr. hit a last second three to lift the Texas Legends (13-22) over the Sioux Falls Skyforce (22-13) 136-133 Friday night in Frisco. Trent Jr.'s final shot also sealed another career night for the Portland Trail Blazers assignee who finished with a game-high 39.

Sioux Falls grabbed the first lead with a Briante Weber layup, but Texas responded with seven straight to take the lead they would hold through the fourth. Holding a nine-point advantage to start the second, Texas built up their largest lead of the night (+16) behind a combined 20-point quarter from Trent Jr. and Trahson Burrell.

The Legends maintained a double-digit lead midway through the third before a 9-0 run put Sioux Falls within one. The visitors matched an 11-point performance from Kostas Antetokounmpo with 12 and 11 respectively from Weber and Duncan Robinson to outscore Texas 42-34 and close in on the Legends' lead. Texas had a five-point advantage going into the fourth but Robinson opened the quarter with a long ball to make it a one possession game. The home team's hot shooting exploded to 65% and 56% outside behind a 20-point quarter from Trent Jr., but Sioux Falls spread the offense and managed to match the Legends' output. With 10.5 seconds to play, Charles Cooke knocked down a triple to tie up the game. Overtime seemed imminent until Trent Jr. took charge and sank his fourth three of the quarter (sixth of the game) with 1.7 on the clock to seal Sioux Falls' fate.

Trent Jr. had his sixth straight career-high night in as many games with the team, leading all scorers with 39 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block. Burrell came off the bench for 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, and three Legends finished with double-doubles. Kostas Antetokounmpo tabbed 18 points, 12 rebounds, Xavier Rathan-Mayes added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists, and 2 blocks, and Xavier Johnson grabbed 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Weber grabbed his first triple-double of the season for the Skyforce with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Robinson finished 8-of-16 outside for 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Raphiael Putney added 14 points and a game-high 6 blocks, and Cooke tallied 24 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Marcus Lee came off the bench for 17 points and 9 rebounds to round out the double-digit scorers.

Texas will host the South Bay Lakers (12-21) tomorrow at 7:30pm CT while Sioux Falls returns home to host the Oklahoma City Blue (24-9) Sunday at 1:00pm CT. For viewing information visit gleague.nba.com.
