Tucson Padres News Release

The DM 50, in conjunction with the Tucson Padres, welcome home over 1,000 of our Davis Monthan AFB personnel and their families at the Padres game at Kino Stadium on Saturday, June 8th.

Backpacks filled with thank you gifts will be provided by Tucson Community Businesses to all DMAFB personnel, whether they attend the game or not, that were deployed overseas in the last year. Personnel and their families will be treated to tickets, dinner, Girl Scout cookies and a meet and greet with the Padres before the game.

The Welcome Home Warriors ceremony will begin at 6:45 on the field. All military members from Davis Monthan AFB that deployed will be invited down to the field. Dave Sitton will emcee the event which will start with God Bless America performed by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Mike Grassinger, President of DM 50, will speak as will Col. Blanchard, the Commander of the 355th Fighter Wing and Mike Feder, General Manager of the Tucson Padres.

There will be representatives from Honor Flight on the field as well. The ceremony will close with America the Beautiful also played by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.

This event is made possible because of the DM 50, the Tucson Padres, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and the University of Arizona Medical Center. Plenty of tickets remain. Game time is 7:05 against the Sacramento River Cats (Oakland A's Triple-A team).
