Left-handed pitcher Rob Rasmussen joins the Albuquerque Isotopes today, June 7 from Double-A Chattanooga. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Javy Guerra was placed on the disabled list today with a right elbow strain after returning to the Albuquerque Isotopes on June 2 from Los Angeles.
Guerra made nine relief appearances with the Dodgers after his recall on April 30, posting a 6.75 ERA (8 ER/10.2 IP). The 6-foot-1 hurler holds a 0-3 record with Triple-A Albuquerque this season, posting a 3.86 ERA (8 ER/18.2 IP) in six appearances (four starts). His last outing was last night, June 6, in New Orleans with Guerra suffering the loss, allowing the deciding run in one inning of work on a solo home run. The 24-year-old pitcher was originally drafted by the Marlins in the second round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of California, Los Angeles. Rasmussen was first drafted by the Dodgers in 2007, but opted to go to college. After stints with in the Miami Marlins organization and the Houston Astros, the lefty joined Los Angeles as a part of the trade that sent former Isotope John Ely to Houston. In his four-season Minor League career, Rasmussen posts a 23-24 record with a 3.62 ERA (145 ER/ 360.1 IP) in 72 games (64 starts).
