TUCSON, Ariz. - Grant Green hit a third-inning grand slam-part of a seven-run frame for Sacramento-helping lift the River Cats to a 14-5 win over the Tucson Padres on Friday night at Kino Stadium.

After Sacramento mustered just three total runs over Andrew Werner's last three starts, the River Cat offense exploded for 14 runs to win their third-straight game and improve to 5-1 over Tucson in 2013. Green added a pair of singles, while Luke Montz homered and drove in five runs. Montz now has driven in 12 runs over his last three games.

With the win, the River Cats extended their division lead over Tucson to two games.

Andrew Werner (5-8) earned the win, tossing his seventh-straight quality start. He surrendered just three runs in seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

T-Pads starter Anthony Bass (0-1) suffered the defeat, giving up eight earned runs in just 2.2 innings.

In addition to the nine combined RBIs from Green and Montz, Jemile Weeks chipped in with a 4-for-5 night and Stephen Vogt went 3-for-5 with a triple and two singles. After the 14-run outburst, the Cats have now averaged 11 runs per game in their five wins over Tucson this season.

The River Cats look for their fourth-straight win Saturday night in Tucson, when they send RHP Bruce Billings (7-2, 4.25 ERA) to the mound against RHP Burch Smith (2-0, 2.70 ERA).

The River Cats return home Friday, June 14, for a four-game set against Tacoma, featuring a pair of fireworks shows and the annual Father's Day Baseball and BBQ event at Raley Field, set for Sunday, June 16.
