Sarnia Sting News Release

Picking up 4 of a possible 6 points on the road last weekend, the Sting improved to 6-7-1-1 on the season. In the tight Western Conference standings, the Sting find themselves in 8th place through the first 15 games of the year.

The team's recent success (5-4-0-1 in their last 10 GP) can be attributed to strong team play and the presence of secondary scoring. The Sting now have 5 players with over 10 points on the year and 5 players who've recorded more than 5 goals thus far. With match-ups against the highly touted Erie Otters and the Niagara Ice dogs this weekend, the Sting will again be relying on a team-based approach to pick up points on the road.

Heading into the weekend, Erie boasts a 13-0-0-1 record with 3 of their players securing a top 5 spot in the OHL scoring race. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Niagara has lost 6-straight and sits at the bottom of the Eastern conference standings with a 2-13-0-0 record. Saturday will be the first time the Sting visit the newly built Meridian Centre.
