Weather knocks out MAGIC-FM for tonight's Jackals game

March 8, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

JOHNSTOWN, PA -Due to today's ice storm to hit the Twin Tiers, power has been knocked out at the transmitter site of the Elmira Jackals' flagship radio station MAGIC-FM (92.7/97.7) and they are currently off the air.

As a result, tonight's Jackals broadcast cannot be heard locally on over-the-air radio or via the internet web stream. To alleviate a portion of this weather-induced situation, the Jackals have linked the radio broadcast from tonight's opponent, the Johnstown Chiefs, to our website at www.jackalshockey.com. The Voice of the Chiefs, Ray Schmitt, will carry Jackals fans through the action on the internet audio feed.

For fans purchasing the B2 Networks broadcast, Grady Whittenburg will be providing the audio for the on-line video webcast of tonight's contest in Johnstown. Fans can access the broadcast for a fee of $6.00 by going to the "Fan Zone" tab on the Jackals home page and clicking on the "Game Night Video" link.

The possibility remains that MAGIC-FM may rectify its problems before the end of tonight's contest. If that happens, we will join the game in progress if and when that becomes possible.

Jackals management appreciates your patience and understanding with this situation and the solutions that have been put in place for partial coverage of tonight's game.
