Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Dan Turple has been reassigned to Gwinnett from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Turple had been assigned to Grand Rapids by the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday.
Turple dressed for the Griffins in their games on Wednesday and Thursday night, but he did not see playing time in either contest.
This most recent trip to the America League was Turple's third this season. He was in Chicago from October 19th to November 1st and was in Grand Rapids from February 19th to February 29th.
During his first trip through Grand Rapids, Turple saw action in one game. He played the third period of a 6-1 loss to the Quad City Flames on February 24th. Turple gave up one goal while making 6 saves in 20 minutes of work.
On the season, Turple has a 12-10-3 record with a 3.13 goals against average and a 0.905 save percentage in ECHL action.
Turple will be available for the Gladiators tonight as they play host to the Augusta Lynx.
The Gladiators continue their fifth anniversary season on Saturday, March 8th as they host the Augusta Lynx at the Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7:35 p.m. Catch all the play-by-play action in Saturday's game on WDUN, News Talk 550.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
The Gwinnett Gladiators continue their fifth season as a proud member of the ECHL - season ticket packages are on sale now. In addition, the Gladiators offer several unique multi-game ticket packages as well as discounted group rates, suite rentals, and birthday parties.
