We Will be "Brief" Stingrays Host First-Ever Undie Sunday for CYDC on Sunday, March 15

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 season of hockey in the Lowcountry, host their first-ever Undie Sunday benefiting the Carolina Youth Development Center on Sunday, March 15 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 3:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Similar to Teddy Bear Toss, fans are encourage to bring new, packaged underwear including socks, undershirts, boxers, bras and briefs to throw on the ice after the Stingrays score their first goal. All donations will benefit the Carolina Youth Development Center .

The Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC) helps children reach their full potential as healthy and well-adjusted individuals by delivering a continuum of prevention, assessment, intervention, treatment and transition services. CYDC provides programs reaching over 600 children locally and care for young people with very serious issues including physical and sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment and severe emotional disorders. Founded in 1790, the Carolina Youth Development Center is a direct descendant of the Charleston Orphan House, America's first publicly funded orphanage. The Stingrays have worked with the CYDC on several occasions including an annual Kids Day at the Carolina Ice Palace in North Charleston and the 2015 NHL Winter Classic ticket fundraiser this past winter.

The Stingrays honor the men and women of the Armed Forces on Military Appreciation Night presented by APECS Aerospace Corporation, Precision Airparts Support Services, United Aeronautical Corporation, U.S. Technical and Heritage Pools on Saturday, March 14 at 7:05 p.m. at the Coliseum. WCW and WWE Champion Ric Flair will fire up the crowd as the Stingrays skate in special "Stars and Stripes" jerseys and auction them off after the contest.
