Quotes
"I was just trying to shoot the puck as much as possible and [Jack] Combs and Vinny [Scarsella] were doing a great job of setting me up. Keith Seabrook saw me on one as well and a lot of credit goes to those guys for finding me in good spots." - Tyler Maxwell on his hat trick.
"The first two were kind of in the same spot. When you're in a spot where you can shoot the puck and surprise the goalie, that's what you're aiming for as a scorer. The third one was given to me on a two-on-one with Combs and I was able to bury it to give us a little insurance at the end." - Maxwell on how he put in his three goals.
"It was necessary for us to get the victory. I know he was ready to go and obviously got the start and he did a great job for us back there making big saves." - Maxwell on goaltender Cody Reichard making the start following the call-up of Kent Simpson.
"He told me at the morning skate. It's part of the position that you just have to be ready to go no matter the situation. It was good for [Kent Simpson] to get the call up and I'm definitely happy for him." - Goaltender Cody Reichard on getting the start tonight.
"The guys did a great job in front of me. When I kicked out rebounds, they did a good job of clearing them out and backchecked hard all night on the odd-man rushes. They kept guys to the outside and blocked a lot of shots tonight. Can't say enough about how the guys played in front of me." - Reichard on the team's performance tonight.
"The credit goes to my linemates because Maxwell and Scarsella played great tonight. They are both really good players and I think we're starting to figure it out together and that's making a difference." - Jack Combs on building chemistry with his linemates.
"We got a break getting the five-on-three and Maxwell gave the team a lift when he found a way to score those two goals from bad angles down low. Then Seabrook puts a good shot on net with the screen from [Tyler Shattock] in front. We spent time working on it because we have some new pieces like Combs coming in, so it was good to spend some time on it in practice yesterday and build some chemistry." - Head Coach Rich Kromm on the power play scoring two big goals.
"They were clicking tonight despite fighting each other a bit on an early power play, but it's good to see because it means they're working together. They're both competitive people and it's definitely good to see guys working it out and finding some chemistry with each other. I thought those guys did a great job of that tonight." - Coach Kromm on the play of Maxwell and Combs in just their third game together.
"I found out during the morning skate that Bridgeport was going to call Simpson up, so I was able to tell Reichard that he was getting the nod then. He was really good tonight and played real acrobatic. The puck was taking some odd bounces off the wall and made it tough for him in net, but he was up to it and came up big for us." - Coach Kromm on his goalie's performance throughout the game.
