Warriors Set for Sunday Battle with Oil Kings

Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Edmonton, AB - A loss in Edmonton at the start of November remains motivation for the Moose Jaw Warriors.
"We all have a little bit of a sour taste in our mouth from that game, we just can't take them lightly," Warriors defenceman Kalem Parker said.
The Warriors head back into Edmonton on Sunday afternoon to battle the Oil Kings to close out a two-game road trip to Alberta this weekend.
Moose Jaw is coming off a hard fought 5-2 win in Red Deer on Friday night in a game that was a back-and-forth physical battle.
"We're not used to getting hit that hard or that much, but we responded really well," Parker said. "In the first period, we got our legs under us and realized how much the physical play will determine the impact of the game and I thought in the second and third period, we put on our work boots, went to work and got the win."
The win was the third straight for the Warriors, who now hold down third spot in the Eastern Conference with a 16-10-0-1 record.
Edmonton enters Sunday's contest after scoring a 5-3 win over Everett on Friday. The Oil King are 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 8-16-0-1 record.
The season series between the two teams is tied at 1-1 with Edmonton scoring a 7-5 win at home on Nov. 3 and Moose Jaw winning 7-3 at home on Nov. 18.
"Edmonton's a really hard working team, we took them lightly last time we were in Edmonton and they came away with a win, so we don't want to do that again," Parker said.
"We've got to come and play physical to get a win."
Since that last game in Edmonton, Parker said the Warriors' game has continued to evolve and he feels they're playing some of their best hockey of the season right now.
"Our players really developed without the puck, we're tracking a lot better through the middle and the defencemen are gapping up a lot better," he said. "We've adjusted a lot throughout the past couple of weeks and over the last three games have been playing really good hockey, so we've just got to keep that up."
The Warriors and Oil Kings meet at 5 p.m. CST on Sunday at Rogers Place. Tune into the action on WHL Live and Country 100, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 4:40 p.m.
