Turn The Page

A frustrating start to the weekend continued last night as Wenatchee stunned Portland with a third-period comeback en route to an overtime win. The loss marked just the third home defeat for the Winterhawks this year, though, and the Hawks' have another opportunity to take down some top competition on home ice as the Cougars visit the VMC for the first time this season.

Prince George arrives with wins in six of its last seven games, and became the league's first team to 20 wins with a victory over Spokane last night. Led by Minnesota Wild prospect Riley Heidt (50pts) and star rookie Terik Parascak (40pts), the Cougars have enjoyed a strong start to the season and have yet to lose consecutive games.

Injuries have hurt the Winterhawks lately, but they remain a top team in the Western Conference and will relish the chance to go toe-to-toe with the Cougars for the first time - buckle up for what should be another great game in the Glass Palace!

New Guy

With injuries piling up between the pipes, the Winterhawks added another goaltender on Sunday morning with the acquisition of Nick Avakyan from the Tri-City Americans.

Avakyan, 19, has played 56 WHL games across a three-year career, including four appearances thus far in the 2023-24 campaign. Debuting in the 2021-22 season, the Glendale, Calif. native has played 25-plus games in each year of his career with Tri-City, and joins the Winterhawks with a 4.74 career GAA and a .870 save percentage.

Welcome to Portland, Nick!

Women Of The Rose City

Brought to you in collaboration with Women in Sports & Events (WISE), this event aims to celebrate the women of the Winterhawks and beyond with a handful of game-night features. Make sure you hit the team store for the game-night t-shirt as well! Designed by local artist Chelsea DeSanto, this year's tattoo-inspired design is sure to be a hit.

After the game, hit the ice for a FREE community skate! Rentals are available for those who need them, or you can bring skates if you've got them! Skate guards/blade coverings must remain ON at all times if you bring your own skates. LIABILITY WAIVERS MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL SKATERS.
