Harrisburg Senators News Release
Zach Walters hit his first AA home run, but the Senators still fell short in falling to New Hampshire 5-3 on Sunday afternoon. Walters home run came leading off the ninth inning, a long blast down the left field line, his second hit of the game and fourth extra base hit since joining the Sens on Tuesday. Danny Rosenbaum started and though he took the loss, pitched effectively for seven innings.
New Hampshire took the lead in the second when Mark Sobolewski reached second base on an error. He later scored on a wild pitch giving New Hampshire a 1-0 lead. Harrisburg came right back in the third with Kris Watts reaching on a single and scoring from first on a triple by Eury Perez.
New Hampshire, though, scored two in the third and one more in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. With two outs in the fifth and no one on base, Jose Lozada was hit by a pitch to start a rally. Eury Perez followed with a single, then Jeff Kobernus followed with an rbi single trimming the Fisher Cats lead to 4-2. After Perez and Kobernus executed a double-steal, Jesus Valdez grounded out to short stop to end the inning.
Sobolewski hit his 12th home run on the season leading off the sixth putting New Hampshire on top 5-2. The Sens received a one-out double by Jesus Valdez in the eighth but failed to score. The home run by Walters in the ninth was the final tally in the game.
Harrisburg is back to .500 at 37-37 which is the first time they've been at .500 since they were 1-1 while New Hampshire improves to 28-45 with the win.
The final game of the series is Monday night at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m. on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website and on iHeart Radio which is available on all mobile devices.
