Beloit Sky Carp News Release

There are not too many fans in the world like Beloit Snappers' 2007 "Fan of the Year" Walt Nelson. Since 1992 Walt has been the backbone of the Snappers fan base. Nelson became a member of the Snappers Board of Directors in '92 and has volunteered here at Pohlman Field ever since.

During Walt's free time you can probably find him at Pohlman Field working on the stadium. Known for his craftsmanship, Nelson lends a hand in fixing Pohlman Field's box seats and fixing up a variety of things in the clubhouse.

As a Season Ticket Holder, Walt shows his true Snappers' colors and comes out to the games whenever he can. With his new "front row" parking spot, Nelson will surely make it to more games this season.

"It's nice to have fans that care about the Snappers as much as he does," said Director of Ticket Operations Brandon Smith. "Walt makes all of our lives a heck of a lot easier here in Snapperland. He is more than deserving of our Fan of the Year award."

Just 33 more days until former Chicago Cub and new Peoria Chiefs' manager, Ryne Sandberg, comes to Beloit! Sandberg and his Chiefs will take on the Snappers on May 19-20 and again June 21-24. Get your tickets now!

Remember fans, anytime you see Snappy outside of Pohlman Field, run up to him and shout "Snapper-tastic." Snappy will have no choice but to surrender two FREE tickets to a Snappers' home game. Make sure you are the first to spot him, however, because he only carries two tickets on him at a time.

Season Tickets, Group Discounts, and Picnic Packages are still available. Contact a Snappers' Representative at 608-362-2272, www.snappersbaseball.com, or at Pohlman Field located at 2301 Skyline Dr. in Beloit for more information.
