Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - The Victoria Salmon Kings defeated the Utah Grizzlies 7-1 Wednesday night at the E-Center.
Victoria struck first, quick and hard, tallying two goals in the first 34 seconds. Nine minutes later, Jordan Krestanovich scored, assisted by his little brother Derek. Utah goaltender Rob McVicar left the game at that point with no saves on three shots. The Salmon Kings scored again less than one minute later to make it 4-0. The Grizzlies made a mark as Joel Irving scored at the 10:41 mark, 35 seconds after the last Victoria goal.
The Grizzlies had their chances in the second, registering 21 shots on goal, but Bryan Bridges was solid for Victoria, stopping them all. The period was scoreless until Marc-Andre Bernier added one more goal giving Victoria back a four-goal lead heading into the final period.
Victoria scored two in the third period and 7-1 was the final score.
The Grizzlies and Salmon Kings continue their series Friday and Saturday at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m both nights.
