
Wranglers win seventh straight

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 4-3 on Tuesday night in front of 4,004 fans at the Orleans Arena. With the win, the Wranglers extend their Pacific Division lead to three points over the Condors. Aaron Power, Steve Crampton and Marco Peluso each scored a goal for Las Vegas in the win. Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna made 29 saves in regulation, stopped four of five shooters in the shootout and added an assist while picking up his 21st win of the season. Defenseman Kevin Truelson scored twice for Bakersfield. Las Vegas will host Alaska on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm.
In the first period, Aaron Power started the scoring for Las Vegas as he carried the puck end-to-end and tallied his tenth goal of the season, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead. The Condors answered back at 16:33 as Dave Kudelka fired a shot through traffic that deflected past Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna, tying the game 1 -1.
In the second period, Steve Crampton scored his 20th goal of the season, giving the Wranglers a 2-1 lead. Bakersfield fired back as defenseman Kevin Truelson scored his first goal of the night, tying the game 2-2. Las Vegas regained the lead when Marco Peluso beat Condors' goalie Rejean Beauchemin at the 11:00 mark to make the score 3-2. The Condors tied the game once again, Kevin Truelson fired a shot from the point that found the back of the net, making the score 3-3.
After a scoreless third period and overtime, the game was decided in a shootout. Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna stopped four of five Condors in the shootout. Wranglers' forward Arpad Mihaly scored on the first Las Vegas attempt, and winger Shawn Limpright netted the decisive goal in the shootout for the Las Vegas victory.
Friday, March 30th the Wranglers will host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 pm. The first 2,000 fans to the game receive a Wranglers' playoff puck compliments of Health Plan of Nevada and Southwest Medical Associates. Saturday, March 31st, Las Vegas will host Alaska at 7:05 pm. Before the game, from 4:30 - 6:30 in the concourse of the Orleans Arena, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party.
