Veteran Center Harrison Reed Loaned to Lake Erie

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced the team has signed rookie center Cody Crichton (CRIGH-ten). Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Crichton, 24, will be available to make his debut with the Thunder tomorrow when the team continues a four game road trip against the Alaska Aces at 8:15 p.m. (1280 AM KWSX/StocktonThunder.com).

The 6-foot and 190 pound center previously skated in three games with the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League and collected two assists with a +2 rating. He began the season with the Kalamazoo Wings and suited up in two ECHL games.

Crichton previously competed for four seasons in college with Robert Morris University (NCAA), collecting 53 points and 72 penalty minutes in 113 career games. He tied for the program lead with a career high 29 points in 39 games as a 2011-12 senior.

Before starting his college career, he earned an invite to prospects camp with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2008.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
