Guimond Called up to AHL Norfolk

Defensemen Sacha Guimond has been called-up to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. Guimond makes his second trip of the season to the AHL as he skated in two games with the Worchester Sharks this season but did not register a point.

Guimond has appeared in nine games with the Gladiators and has earned 10 points (one goal, nine assists) after he was acquired in a trade from the San Francisco Bulls on January 15th. With Gwinnett, he had a five game point scoring streak from January 19th through January 27th, with a total of eight points.

The Gladiators acquired Guimond with Justin Bowers in a trade with the San Francisco in exchange for Cody Carlson, Rylan Galiardi and Christian Ouellet. With the Bulls, Guimond earned 25 points in 33 games. He also had a six game point-scoring streak with San Francisco and tallied 11 points in that span.

With Gwinnett and San Francisco, the rookie defensemen has six multiple point games this season and has earned a total of 35 points (eight goals, 27 assists). He has also notched six power play goals and two game winning goals.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
