Utah Completes Sweep of Alaska

West Valley City, Utah - Garret Cameron had two goals and two assists while Ryan Kinasewich, Louis Dumont and Scott Basiuk all had multi-point outings as the Utah Grizzlies defeated the Alaska Aces 4-1 Friday night at the E-Center in front of 8,402 fans.

The Grizzlies went short-handed three times in the first period, including 18 seconds of 3 on 5, but were able to keep the Aces off of the board as both teams went scoreless into the first intermission.

The Grizzlies took advantage of the power-play and jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 1:37 of the second period when Ryan Kinasewich scored his 34 th goal of the season. Garett Cameron and Louis Dumont were credited with the assists. The Aces responded with a 5 on 3 power-play goal when Kimbi Daniels slipped the puck past Grizzlies netminder Alfie Michaud, at 14:42. Under three minutes later, with the Grizzlies on the 5 on 3 power-play, Garett Cameron redirected a one-timer from the high slot and into the back of the net to give the Grizzlies a 2-1 lead. Scott Basiuk and Louis Dumont provided the assists on the second Grizzlies power-play goal of the evening.

The Grizzlies added an insurance goal when Ryan Kinasewich and Garret Cameron found Louis Dumont who beat a diving Matt Underhill to extend the lead to 3-1 at the 11:46 mark of the third period. Garett Cameron scored his fourth point and second goal of the game when he took assists from Scott Basiuk and Ryan Kinasewich and put the puck into an empty net to give the Grizzlies a 4-1 victory.

Alfie Michaud turned away 32 of 33 Aces shots picking up his 21st victory of the season.

The Grizzlies hit the road tomorrow to take on the Las Vegas Wranglers. Face-off is set for 8:05 p.m.
