Boise, Idaho - D'Arcy McConvey registered four-points, including his first professional hat trick, helping fuel the Steelheads over the Fresno Falcons, 6-2, in front of 4,897 fans at Qwest Arena on Friday night.

McConvey now ranks second on the club with 33 goals, while surpassing Garett Bembridge in points with 77. He now has points in 40 of his 53 games, while helping the Steelheads (39-20-7) improve to 6-2-0 against the Falcons (37-13-13) this season. It was also his fourth, four-point affair, as the team has won six straight games and eight in a row on home ice.

Steelheads' forward Paul Caponigri scored the only goal in the first period, scoring on a slap shot from the slot at 13:01. Just as a Falcons' penalty had expired, Caponigri unleashed a shot that beat Falcons' goaltender Jamie Holden (31 saves) along the ice. Defensemen Jeremy Mylymok and Blake Forsyth gathered the helpers.

At the first intermission, the shots were 14-7 in favor of the Steelheads.

Caponigri's second of the evening came at 5:19 of the second period, making the score 2-0. David Bararuk found Caponigri behind the Falcons' defense with a pass through neutral ice. Caponigri was tripped up from behind as he raced into the Falcons' slot, but he still managed to fire a shot from his knees past Holden. Kurt MacSweyn also got an assist on Caponigri's 13th of the season.

The Falcons answered on a goal by Fraser Clair at 9:22 of the middle stanza. Clair burst past the Steelheads' defense on the left wing side before beating goaltender Matt Yeats (16 saves) for his 22nd of the season. J.F. Plourde drew the lone helper.

McConvey got his first of the match at 12:08 of the second period to give the Steelheads some breathing room. The captain was the recipient of a nifty passing play, and he banged home his 31st of the season, which turned out to be his team-leading seventh game-winner. Marty Flichel and Dan Hacker added the helpers. Forty-one seconds later, McConvey got on the board again, wristing a shot through traffic to make the score 4-1. Defenseman Tyler Kindle got the only assist.

Bararuk put the Steelheads in front by four at 7:56 of the third period with his 22nd goal of the season. Hacker and McConvey set up the power play marker.

Falcons' defenseman Dustin VanBallegooie made the score 5-2 at 13:06 of the third period, with a man advantage tally that caromed off a body in front. Shawn Mather and P.O. Beaulieu got the assists.

Just seconds later, Flichel found McConvey on a rush into the Falcons' zone. McConvey hit the right circles with good speed before rifling a wrist shot past Holden to complete the hat trick. Hacker also got an assist, his third of the game.

Five skaters recorded multiple points in the victory, as Matt Yeats picked up his 19th win. Holden was saddled with the loss, dropping to 16-6-4. The final shots were 37-18 in favor of the home team. The Steelheads current six-game winning streak ties a season-high.

The Steelheads final regular season home game is Saturday, March 25 against the Falcons, as the puck drops at 7:10 p.m. MST. All the action can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1350 AM, "The Ticket," beginning approximately 20 minutes before the drop of the puck.
