Everblades place Coalter on IR

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Brandon Coalter has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve list.

Coalter, 27, has been out of the lineup since suffering an injury in Florida's 8-2 win over Augusta on March 18. The native of Newmarket, Ontario has tallied 12 points (4g, 8a) in 42 games this season with the Everblades. The former 5th round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks in 1998 is in his third professional season, all with the Everblades, and has notched 37 points (12g, 25a) and 338 penalty minutes in 148 games. The trip to the IR is Coalter's fourth this season.

In a separate move, the Everblades moved defenseman Jeremy Swanson from the 7-day IR to the 30-day IR. The 21-year-old has missed the last four games with reoccurring symptoms from an earlier concussion. Overall the native of Red Rock, Ontario has skated in 14 games with the Everblades this season and has collected four points (1g, 3a). The former 6th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2002 has also spent time this season in the American Hockey League with the Rochester Americans where he has no points in 11 games.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 p.m. from the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, SC.
