OMAHA, Neb. - After not capitalizing on opportunities in the ninth and tenth innings, Pedro Ciriaco's two-out, infield single in the 11th inning lifted the Omaha Storm Chasers (61-62) over the Fresno Grizzlies (57-65) in the series opener 5-4. The walk-off win for Omaha was their eighth of the season, and with Memphis rained out in Colorado Springs the Chasers own a 1.5-game lead in the American North Division with 21 games left to play.

The Storm Chasers fell in to a 4-1 hole as Fresno collected five of their six hits on the night to score four runs in the fourth, but then outfielder Brian Fletcher hit two solo homers to help get the game tied and set up the walk-off win. Both of his long balls led off innings, one in the fourth and one in the sixth, and it was the first multi-homer game by a Storm Chaser other than Brett Hayes this season (who has three on the year). Fletcher has five homers in only 14 games with Omaha, and counting his final five games at Double-A Northwest Arkansas the young slugger has nine in his last 19 games.

Left-hander Danny Duffy started the game but only pitched one inning, collecting two strikeouts in his lone scoreless frame. After allowing the four-run fourth the Chasers relief staff of Brian Sanches, Francisley Bueno and Donnie Joseph allowed only one hit over the final seven innings and four total baserunners.

The 18 hits for Omaha was their third most on the season, and most since May 12th at Colorado Springs, with Ben Broussard leading the way with four hits in his first game back after injury his hand on a hit-by-pitch on August 9. The three-through-six hitters for Omaha were a combined 12-for-23, but Omaha stranded 14 runners on base.

The Storm Chasers will look to keep the winning ways rolling as they send out right-hander Felipe Paulino (0-0, 6.00) in his second start with Omaha as part of his MLB Rehab. Paulino will face off with Grizzlies right-hander Mitch Lively (5-5, 5.16) with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
