ROUND ROCK, Texas - As a tribute to the 1959 Austin Senators, former Senators center fielder Howie Bedell will throw out Tuesday's ceremonial first pitch prior to the 7:05 p.m. start time of the Round Rock Express and Tacoma Rainiers game.

Bedell played 146 games in center field for the 1959 Senators, batting .303 with 26 doubles and 63 RBI. That year, he led the Texas League with 194 hits and went on to win three World Series rings with Philadelphia (1980), Kansas City (1985) and Cincinnati (1990) over a 15-year playing career in professional baseball. Bedell has been involved in professional baseball for 56 years and is now president of Chris', Inc., a company that represents sports-related industries and product development, while also serving an advisor with the nationally renowned Mickey Owen School of Baseball in Missouri.

Bedell has been honored as one of the 40 greatest players in the Double-A Reading Phillies history in 2006 after posting a lifetime average of .297 and batting over .300 four times.

The Express and Rainiers continue a four-game series Tuesday night at Dell Diamond. The E-Train will don its 1959 Austin Senators jerseys for the 7:05 p.m. start on Turn Back Tuesday, presented by Cedar Park Premier Dentistry featuring half-price tickets. Right-hander Evan Meek (5-7, 3.80 ERA) will take the mound for Round Rock, while Tacoma will send Andrew Carraway (6-5, 4.80 ERA) to the hill.
