Two Late Goals Lift Titans Over Storm

November 12, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release

The Trenton Titans came into tonight's game against the Toledo Storm hoping to rebound after last night's overtime shootout loss to the Royals. It took them almost 57 minutes, but Titans did just that, coming away with a 3-1 win.

After a scoreless first period, the Titans were able to get on the board first with a power play goal by Matt Zultek at 6:05 the second frame. It was the team-leading, eighth goal of the season for Zultek and the second consecutive game the Titans have scored with the man advantage.

The Storm, however, would tie it in the third. Toledo was able to sustain pressure for almost two minutes in the offensive zone with Nick Parillo putting a rebound past Houle and just inside the near post to make it 1-1.

It looked as though the two teams were heading for overtime, but Joe Rybar one-timed a Dave MacIsaac pass through the five-hole of Storm goaltender, Doug Teskey, to give the Titans the one goal lead. Just fourteen seconds later, Bill Cass added a little insurance when he fired a slapshot past Teskey, for his second goal in two games. Rookie Chris Houle made 18 of 19 saves to earn his first win as a Titan.

The Titans take on the Toledo Storm again on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00pm. For ticket information, call a Titans Sales Representative at 609.599.9500.
