Beloit Sky Carp News Release

Earlier today the Minnesota Twins and Beloit Snappers extended their Player Development Contract (PDC) for two more seasons. The agreement, which ensures the Snappers and Twins partnership through the 2010 season, occurred at the Beloit Country Club on Tuesday morning.

"This is a great day in Snappers' history," said Beloit Professional Baseball Association, Inc. Chairman Dennis Conerton. "We couldn't be happier with the Twins, who have been outstanding to work with since day one. The Twins, from top to bottom, are a first rate organization and we are proud to be affiliated with them."

The Snappers and Twins last extended their PDC on February 9, 2006, which runs through the 2008 season. The PDC signed today guarantees that the Snappers and Twins will be together through the 2010 season.

"We would like to thank the Minnesota Twins for not only extending their agreement with us, but also doing it so quickly," said General Manager Jeff Vohs. "The signing represents the confidence that both we and the Minnesota Twins have in each other. We look forward to keeping this relationship alive through the 2010 season and beyond."

In three seasons with the Minnesota Twins so far the Snappers' overall record is 169-158 (.517) as of August 13, 2007. The Snappers have made the playoffs the last two seasons with the Twins, and this year they are the Midwest League Western Division First Half Champions, ensuring their third consecutive playoff birth.

The Beloit Professional Baseball Association, Inc. has been a member of the Midwest League since 1982. During the first 23 seasons of existence Beloit was affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Twins signed with the Snappers prior to the 2005 season and became the second Major League team affiliated with the Snappers.
