Triple-A Title Game Returns to Las Vegas Ballpark

On March 14, fans will be flocking to LECOM Park in Bradenton, Fla., to watch Orioles prospects Jackson Holliday (No. 1), Colton Cowser (No. 3), Coby Mayo (No. 4) and Connor Norby (No. 7) in the inaugural Spring Breakout showcase. Just five months ago, that same group took home the Triple-A National Championship in Las Vegas.

The game between Norfolk and Dodgers affiliate Oklahoma City was highlighted by Cowser's 455-foot grand slam in the ninth inning en route to the 2023 title for the top Orioles affiliate.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the 2024 Triple-A National Championship will take place on Sept. 28 at Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the A's Triple-A affiliate. The game will feature the winners of the highest two Minor League circuits -- the International League and the Pacific Coast League -- each of which will be decided in a three-game series starting on Sept. 24.

The Triple-A season is split into two halves, with the first half ending on June 23, and the second finishing on Sept. 22. The series will consist of each league's first-half and second-half winners facing off, with the victors competing in the championship game for the third consecutive year.

"We're excited to host the Triple-A Championship Game here at Las Vegas Ballpark and look forward to crowning a champion once again," Aviators president and chief operations officer Don Logan said. "Last year's game was very exciting and went down to the last out, and we expect another thrilling championship game here in Southern Nevada."

Since the first Triple-A National Championship Game in 2006, the Pacific Coast League has won nine of the 16 titles.

"The Triple-A National Championship Game is a terrific way to finish the Minor League season and we're pleased to host it in one of the premier facilities in professional baseball," said Morgan Sword, MLB's executive vice president of baseball operations. "We expect another great crowd at Las Vegas Ballpark and appreciate the Las Vegas Aviators for hosting this jewel event once again."
