
Trent Hunter Shines At AHL All-Star Classic

PORTLAND, ME â Bridgeport Sound Tigers Right Wing Trent Hunter notched a pair of assists as the Canadian All-Stars beat PlanetUSA 10-7 in Monday's Dodge AHL All-Star Classic at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine. Hunter's two-assist performance in Monday's game followed his winning the accuracy shooting segment of Sunday's Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition. He hit four targets on six attempts helping the Canadian All-Stars to a 15-13 win in Monday's competition.
Hunter currently leads the Sound Tigers in scoring with 18 goals, 20 assists and 38 points in 42 games this season. He also has four assists in eight games with the Sound Tigers' National Hockey League affiliate, the New York Islanders, this season. Hunter was the fourth pick, 150th overall, of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 1998 NHL draft.
A third-period outburst, including the game-winning goal by Jon Sim of the Utah Grizzlies, led the Canadian All-Stars to victory Monday. Sim broke a 7-7 tie with 7:51 left in the third period and finished with two goals and an assist, earning honors as the Dodge AHL All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. The Sound Tigers will return from the AHL All-Star break with a pair of home games this weekend hosting the Hartford Wolf Pack Friday at 7:35 p.m. and the Saint John Flames Saturday at 7:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and at www.soundtigers.com.
