Friday is Armed Forces Night

The Battleship of New Jersey is presenting Armed Forces Night this Friday, Feb. 7, as the Army and Navy will each have displays on the concourse. The Army will also have a rock-climbing wall and HUM-V outside the First Union Spectrum, and a combined Army/Navy honor guard will present the colors prior to the game. All military personnel with an ID can purchase a ticket that night for just $8.

DISNEY CRUISELINES VACATION UP FOR GRABS ON SUNDAY

Registration will take place this Feb. 7 & 9 for a vacation on Disney CruiseLines. Courtesy of the Phantoms and AAA Mid-Atlantic, the trip is a four-day, three-night cruise out of Cape Canaveral, Fla. for two adults and two children. The lucky winner will be announced during the third period on Feb. 9.

UPCOMING PROMOTIONS

It will be Snyder's of Hanover Switcharoo Night on Wednesday, Feb. 19, as all adults can buy tickets at $8 child prices. Fans will also receive free Snyder's products as they enter the First Union Spectrum. Courage the Cowardly Dog is set to appear at the Phantoms' game on Friday, Feb. 21 to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans who bring cameras.

HELPING HANDS AUCTION RAISES $6,500

The third annual Children's Miracle Network Helping Hands Auction raised $6,500 on Saturday, Feb. 1. Each Phantoms player, as well as several Flyers players and management made handprints with fingerpaint on a card and signed it. Fans placed silent bids for the framed cards on the concourse through the second intermission before participating in a live auction for 10 major Phantoms cards in Red Bell following the game. The highest bid was $500 for the card of Flyers All-Star Jeremy Roenick, while Phantoms Mark Greig and Bruno St. Jacques each brought in $400. All proceeds went to the Children's Miracle Network.

APOLOGETIX TO PERFORM AFTER GAME ON FEB. 21

Christian parody band ApologetiX will be performing after the Phantoms-Albany River Rats game on Friday, Feb. 21. Everyone with a ticket to the game will be able to stay at the First Union Spectrum for the postgame concert. ApologetiX specializes in Biblical parodies of rock hits from the 1950s to today. The Pittsburgh-based group has released seven CDs and performs nationwide.

NEW ONLINE AUCTION BEGINS FRIDAY

A new bi-weekly online auction begins this Friday, Feb. 7. Log on to www.phantomshockey.com to place your bid on an autographed 2001-02 Jim Vandermeer road jersey, four tickets to the Feb. 19 game vs. Portland with a postgame Meet N Greet with Brad Tiley, and a Helping Hands framed card.

PHANTOMS OWN THREE OF TOP SIX AHL CROWDS

Following a pair of outstanding attendance totals at the First Union Center the past two weekends, the Phantoms now own three of the AHL's top six crowds in 2002-03. Philadelphia's first game of the year at the First Union Center vs. Grand Rapids drew an AHL season-high crowd of 14,762 on Jan. 25, eclipsing the previous league season-best crowd of 14,031 set by the Chicago Wolves on Oct. 12. The Phantoms also had impressive attendance numbers on Dec. 27 vs. Hershey (12,998) and Feb. 1 vs. Chicago (12,081).

CN8 TO TELEVISE FRIDAY'S GAME

CN8, the Comcast Network, is airing a total of 11 Phantoms games throughout the 2002-03 season, with the next telecast set for this Friday, Feb. 7 against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The CN8 broadcast team once again features Tim Saunders, Orest Kindrachuk and Mick Moninghoff.

WRIGHT ON "INSIDE THE PHANTOMS"

The Philadelphia Phantoms, WNJC 1360-AM, and South Jersey Sports On-Line (www.SJSports.com) are proud to announce the "Inside the Phantoms" show. Hosted by David Unkle of The Topcat Sports Show, Inside the Phantoms airs twice a month and features a player interview, news on the team and ticket giveaways. The Topcat Sports Show airs Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on Philadelphia's Renaissance Radio Station, WNJC 1360-AM. Jamie Wright will be the next guest on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 5:15 p.m.

SKOLNEY ON "RUMBLE WITH THE PHANTOMS" THIS WEEK

Defenseman Wade Skolney will be this week's guest on "Rumble with the Phantoms," which airs every Wednesday from 4:30-5:00 p.m. on WNJC (1360 AM). Hosted by Tom Shaw, the show features a player interview, news on the team and ticket giveaways every week.

CARING CANINES TO ATTEND SUNDAY'S GAME

Members of the Caring Canines will be making their annual visit to a Phantoms game this Sunday, Feb. 9. The Caring Canines is a 4-H club located in Burlington County, N.J. that is dedicated to raising puppies who are destined to become seeing eye dogs. Several 4-H members, handlers and their dogs will attend the game.

AHL ALL-STAR SKILLS COMPETITION ON CN8

CN8, The Comcast Network, will air the 2003 Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition on a tape-delayed basis this Saturday Feb. 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Defenseman John Slaney was Philadelphia's representative at the All-Star Classic.

REGISTRATION BEGINS FRIDAY TO WIN HARLEY DAVIDSON

Stop by the Harley Davidson motorcycle display on the concourse to register to win a Harley Davidson XLH883 Sportster. The winner will be presented his/her new motorcycle on Fan Appreciation Night, Sunday, April 6.

FINAL PHANTOMS PLAYER CLINIC ON FEB. 26

The last of 10 Phantoms Player Clinics will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for members of Center Ice in Oaks, Pa. Phantoms Player Clinics are sponsored by Carrabba's Italian Grill.

NEW GAME PROGRAMS ON SALE

The second edition of the official Phantoms game program, with new features on Mark Greig, Ben Stafford and David Harlock, is now on sale at merchandise stands.

HELPING THE CAUSE

The Phantoms Wives Charity Foundation, a division of the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation, is dedicating all fund-raising efforts this season to the National Adoption Center. The NAC is a private, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia that has found families for more than 19,000 children across the United States.

The Phantoms Wives raised $19,000 on Dec. 20 when the team wore special red & green Holiday jerseys during its 4-2 win over the Hershey Bears before auctioning them off following the match in Bullies. A total of $1,470 was also raised at the third annual player bachelor auction on Nov. 15. Fans placed bids at the Phantoms Wives table for the chance to go on a date with one of six single Phantoms players, as well as Mix 95.7 afternoon disc jockey Rick Stacy. The second jersey auction of the season will take place on Sunday, March 23 when the Phantoms wear replicas jerseys of the old Philadelphia Firebirds (1974-77 NAHL,1977-79 AHL).

Stick around after every Friday home game to hear the Delaware Valley's best and brightest bands perform live inside Bullies Sports Bar & Restaurant. Sound Advice will be the featured entertainment this Friday, Feb. 7.

FOOSBALL TOURNAMENT EVERY FRIDAY

Budweiser will be sponsoring a foosball tournament in Bullies before every Friday night home game this season. Two-person teams will compete from 6:00-7:00 p.m., with each winning team receiving two tickets to the Phantoms' final regular-season Friday game on April 4, so they can compete in the final round that night. The champions will win a free foosball table, as well as a Phantoms Fantasy Pack that includes game tickets, dinner in Bullies and the opportunity to watch pre-game warm-ups from the bench.

STUDENT TICKETS JUST $8 ON WEDNESDAYS & FRIDAYS

College and high school students with valid student IDs can attend all Phantoms games on Wednesdays and Fridays this season for just $8.
