Travs Hit 3 Straight Homers in 9th But Fall Short

Frisco, TX-The Arkansas Travelers hit three consecutive home runs in the ninth inning but came up a run short falling to the Frisco RoughRiders 8-7. The game featured a combined 16 walks and two hit batsmen. Frisco ran out of available pitchers in the final inning and had to turn to reserve catcher Jordan Procyshen on the mound to secure the game's final out.

Moments That Mattered

* David Garcia busted the game open for the RoughRiders in the sixth inning with a bases loaded double that scored three and put the Riders up by four.

* Three straight solo homers by Zach DeLoach, Jake Scheiner and Joe Rizzo opened the ninth inning and cut the Travs' deficit to one. But the next three hitters were retired in order to end the comeback attempt.

* The three consecutive homers were the first time the Travs had done that since May 20, 2017 (Tyler Marlette, Marcus Littlewood, Joey Wong).

* Frisco started right-hander Jack Leiter, the #2 pick in last year's draft in his pro debut. Leiter pitched three innings and allowed one run on one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts.
