BINGHAMTON - Binghamton Senators hockey players will be at Mirella's Italian Restaurant in Johnson City on the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. to serve spaghetti dinners during a benefit for Broome County Toys for Tots.

Anyone who donates a new-unopened toy will be served a spaghetti dinner with salad and soda for only $5.95. All toys, and any tips, will be donated to Broome County Toys for Tots.

Radio station 99.1 WAAL organized the dinner and will broadcast live from the restaurant, which is located at 585 Main St. in Johnson City.

The Broome County Toys for Tots is run through a joint effort of the Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott and Vestal police departments. More than 3,000 children in Broome County received toys through the program last year. "We are able to reach so many people thanks to organizations such as the B-Sens," said Angelo Martino, president of Broome County Toys for Tots.

The spaghetti dinner is the second major benefit that players from the Binghamton Senators have been involved with this holiday season. In early November, players decorated white bisque plates that were subsequently auctioned at three B-Sens home games last month. The auction raised more than $3,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York with Denis Hamel's snowman design fetching the most at $500.

The plate auction has now raised more than $9,000 for Make-A-Wish since its inception 2003.
