
Nickulas Returned, Alberts Assigned

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that the Boston Bruins have returned from loan right wing Eric Nickulas and have loaned defenseman Andrew Alberts to the Providence Bruins. Both players will be with the P-Bruins Friday, December 2 when they take on the Springfield Falcons at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7:05 p.m.
Nickulas is playing in his ninth professional season. In nine games with Providence this season, Nickulas has seven points (3g, 4a). The Hyannis, Massachusetts native spent eight games with Boston this season recording three points (1g, 2a) and 4 PIM. Nickulas spent three seasons with Providence from 1998-2001, winning the Calder Cup with the Bruins in 1998-99. During that season he was second on the team and third in the league in playoff scoring with 20 points (8g, 12a) in 18 games. Nickulas dominated during the post-season with Providence ranking third all-time in points (33), second in goals (14), and fourth in assists (19). Currently, the right wing sits first all-time in Bruins game winning goals (13) and ninth all-time in goals (60).
Nickulas was drafted by Boston as their third pick, 99th overall, in the 1994 NHL Draft and played his first game with Boston on January 7, 1999. He spent parts of five seasons in the NHL, with Boston, the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks. The 2003-04 season was Nickulas' first full season in the NHL and he tallied 20 points (8g, 12a) in 65 games.
Alberts is playing his second professional season. In 25 games with Boston this season, Alberts has one assist and 43 PIM. Last season, after wrapping up his senior year at Boston College University, Alberts joined the Providence Bruins where he had 12 PIM in eight regular season games and five points (1g, 4a) and 40 PIM in 16 playoff games. In his four-year college career with Boston College the Eden Prairie, Minnesota native had 66 points (16g, 50a) and 243 PIM in 149 games. Alberts was selected by Boston with their fifth pick (sixth round), 179th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bruins are back home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday, December 2 versus the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, December 4 versus the Lowell Lock Monsters at 4:05 p.m. Tickets are available online at providencebruins.com, at all TicketMaster outlets (401-331-2211 or 508/617-931-2000) and the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office. The Providence Bruins first jersey auction of the season is underway. The P-Bruins are auctioning off the first set of gold third jerseys through a live auction on the team's website, providencebruins.com. The jersey auction will run through Friday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m. and jerseys will be shipped in time for the holidays.
